Károly HALMOS: National culture as market and factory (Betrieb)

The volume Capitalism and the History of Literature, edited by Csaba András and Sándor Hites, was published. The publication of the book was supported by the MTA Lendület Research Group "The Political Economy of 19th Century Hungarian Literature" and the Institute of Literary Studies of the Centre for Humanities Research.
"The volume publishes papers from the conference "The Political Economy of 19th Century Hungarian Literature" held by the MTA Lendület Research Group in Pécs in the summer of 2021. Among the authors are literary historians, philosophers, aestheticians, historians of ideas and economists. Their writings explore a wide range of fields and periods, but they all argue that capitalism is an inescapable problem of thinking about modern culture."
