Peter Busbach also remembered his becoming a lawyer as a key experience. At the time of his admission to the bar in 1857, he was, at least according to his later memoirs, "full of joy and happiness", he had reached his goal, the career "to which I had aspired since my early youth". And this is particularly interesting because by the 1850s the Austrian neo-absolutist government decisions had significantly transformed the institution of the lawyer's profession. But why did he choose to become a lawyer?
